The normally sleepy Cotswolds village of Kingham will be the centre of attention this weekend as thousands of festival-goers arrive for The Big Feastival. A cross between a music festival and a food fair, the Big Feastival 2014, opening tonight, will play host to famous names in the worlds of both live music and cookery. The crowd will enjoy big-name acts including Fat Boy Slim, Soul II Soul, Jamie Cullum and De La Soul over three nights of entertainment, while at the same time savouring some amazing street food, local produce, pop-up restaurants and cooking demonstrations from celebrity chefs. The Big Feastival claims to be very family friendly, with children under 12 allowed free admission, and plenty of activities for all ages.

The Big Feastival was the brainchild of TV chef and restauranteur Jamie Oliver – the cocky, curly haired cockney with a big passion for helping people to make healthy food choices. First held on Clapham Common in London in 2011, the Big Feastival has since moved to a farm on the outskirts of Kingham, in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, which is owned by Blur bassist-turned-artisan cheesemaker Alex James. Though the Feastival campsite has now sold out, tickets are still available for the weekend or for day entry – it sounds like it’s going to be fab weekend (if the weather stays dry!)! But, if festivals aren’t your thing and you fancy a rather more serene Cotswolds experience, we still have availability for our Sunday tour – just £35 per adult for a full day’s guided tour, you can book online or contact us to find out more: +44 (0)7786 920166 or email at tom@gocotswolds.co.uk.
