Thinking of visiting the Cotswolds in June?

Why visit the Cotswolds in June? Go Cotswolds bus in the beautiful sun.

June might just be the perfect time to visit the Cotswolds!

The countryside is in full bloom, the days are long and warm (but not too hot!), and there’s a buzz in the air as the summer properly begins in the UK. Plus, school holidays haven’t yet hit so many villages can still be wandered through without feeling overwhelmed by the quantity of other visitors.

If you’re planning a UK getaway this season, here’s why the Cotswolds deserves a spot on your June travel list.

Glorious Weather (Usually!)

June typically brings mild, sunny days to the Cotswolds – ideal for scenic walks, sitting in pub gardens, and admiring honey-hued stone villages under gorgeous blue skies (perfect for all those photo opportunities!).

The wildflowers are blooming, the fields are lush, and the longer daylight hours mean more time to explore and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Obviously we can’t guarantee the weather here in the UK, but showers are generally short if they happen in June.

Beautiful Gardens and Lavender Fields

June is peak time for many of the Cotswolds’ beautiful, famous gardens – like Hidcote and Kiftsgate – to show off their colours. And towards the end of the month, the lavender fields start blooming. Although we don’t visit the lavender fields specifically on our tours, our drivers can sometimes stop for a cheeky photo and quick sniff as you travel past!

If you are staying in Moreton-in-Mash before or after our tour, don’t miss out a visit to Batsford Arboretum – a 55 acre arboretum and botanical garden.

Perfect Walking Weather

Whether you’re into gentle strolls or hearty hikes, June is ideal for getting outdoors. If you like the perfect mix of scenic strolls, hidden gems, and plenty of local charm – our Cotswolds Walks & Villages tour is not to be missed. It offers a relaxed day of walking some of the prettiest countryside in the Cotswolds, as well as visiting historic towns and beautiful villages.

Our Cotswolds Walks & Villages tour — running Wednesday June 25th and then weekly throughout the summer, is the perfect mix of scenic strolls, hidden gems, and plenty of local charm!
