COVID-19: Book and travel with confidence

Terms and Conditions

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive, friendly and approachable operator that provides high quality tours at a reasonable price. We’re keen travellers ourselves and understand what it’s like to visit new places and to join tours; we really appreciate you travelling to join a tour in our small corner of the world. We have a relaxed and sympathetic approach to operating a minibus tour company but we do still have to have terms and conditions! By purchasing a ticket for one of our tours, you agree that you have read and understood the terms and conditions below. If you have any questions or queries about them then please do contact us before you book.

Tom & Lisa Benjamin – Proprietors.

GO COTSWOLDS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following terms and conditions apply to bookings made for any of Go Cotswolds’ scheduled tours: these are our Cotswolds Day Tour, and our Brewery and Pub Tour.

By booking a Go Cotswolds tour you accept these terms and conditions for yourself and/or all other persons included in that booking (your party).

BOOKING AND PAYMENT

Unless agreed with Go Cotswolds in advance, full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your seat on a Go Cotswolds tour. Go Cotswolds accepts payment via our secure payment servers Stripe and PayPal, by credit card, debit card or PayPal balance (PayPal only).

For our Cotswolds Day Tour, an adult ticket must be purchased for persons aged 16 years and over; a child’s ticket must be purchased for children aged 3–16 and for children under the age of 3 years for whom you have brought your own age-appropriate car seat (see below).

It is our company policy that infants under the age of 3 years may ONLY travel with us if you provide and fit your own age-appropriate car seat. This must be secured with a three-point seatbelt (we do not have isofix points). In such cases, a child ticket MUST also be purchased for the infant. Passengers with children under 3 years of age who attempt to join the tour without an age-appropriate car seat (for children under 3 years of age) and/or without a ticket for the child will not be permitted to join the tour and are not eligible for any refund.

For our Brewery and Cotswolds Pub Tour, an adult is considered to be over the age of 18. Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted to join this tour. Photographic ID may be required.

PICK-UPS AND DROP-OFFS

A free pick-up is included in the cost of the tour. Please see our Cotswolds Day Tour page, or the Brewery and Pub Tour page for details of our free pick-up locations. It is your responsibility to tell Go Cotswolds where you would like to be picked up from at the time of booking or in good time before the tour.

Pick-ups and drop-offs at locations other than those included in the ticket price may be possible but cannot be guaranteed and are subject to additional charges – please enquire before making your booking.

It is your responsibility to know your pick-up time and location at the start of the tour. Please be ready at your agreed pick-up location no less than 10 minutes before the advised departure time. If you are travelling to your departure point on the morning of the tour then it is your responsibility to arrange suitable travel plans in order to reach your departure point in good time. Go Cotswolds will not provide a refund or compensation for any other expenses incurred if you miss the pick-up time through no fault of our own, including but not limited to sleeping in, traffic, or public transport delays or cancellations.

Meeting points and departure times at stops during the tour will be communicated to you by your driver/guide. These locations will always be the same place your driver/guide dropped you off or left you unless otherwise advised. It is your responsibility to return to these locations at the time advised by your driver/guide. Go Cotswolds cannot provide compensation for any other expenses incurred if you miss the pick-up/meeting time through no fault of our own, including but not limited to public transport/taxi fares, phone calls or data charges.

Go Cotswolds is under no obligation to wait for late passengers; however, we will make every effort to make sure you join or re-join the tour.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances, pick-up times and tours are liable to change or cancellation. In the event of a time change or cancellation, Go Cotswolds will contact you as soon as is practically possible using the telephone number or email address you provided at the time of booking. It is your responsibility to ensure the contact details you provide are suitable and correct.

At the end of the tour, Go Cotswolds will return you to the same place we picked you up from. It is also possible to drop you off anywhere along our tour route, or at one of the other pick-up locations included in the ticket price (see our Cotswolds Day Tour page, or the Brewery and Pub Tour page for details). Please advise Go Cotswolds in advance of the tour, or your driver/guide on the day of the tour, if you would like to be dropped off at an alternative location.

Go Cotswolds cannot refund tickets or provide compensation for any other expenses incurred if planned onward travel following the tour is missed due to the tour being delayed. If you are travelling by train before or after the tour, we would always recommend you purchase flexible tickets that do not restrict you to a particular booked train.

BAGGAGE CARRIAGE

The Go Cotswolds minibus has a large boot (trunk) space, so we are happy to carry luggage (including suitcases, foldable wheelchairs and walkers, and foldable strollers/buggies) during the tour. We kindly request you to let us know at the time of booking if you are bringing any of these larger luggage items.

Small hand bags, coats and other small personal items may be kept inside the minibus, either at your feet or on the overhead shelf. All luggage and personal items are your responsibility.

PASSENGER SAFETY AND BEHAVIOUR

By law, and for passenger comfort and safety, all passengers must wear a seatbelt at all times while the vehicle is moving. Each seat is fitted with an individual 3-point seatbelt, and signs are in place to remind you to fasten it.

All passengers over the age of 14 years are responsible for fastening and wearing their own seatbelt. All passengers under the age of 14 years are the responsibility of the parent/guardian accompanying them on the tour. It is our company’s policy that all children under the age of 3 years MUST be seated in an age-appropriate car seat, which must be supplied and fitted by the parent(s)/guardian(s). Passengers arriving with a child under the age of 3 for whom they have not brought a suitable car seat and/or purchased a child ticket will not be permitted to join the tour and are ineligible for any refund. Go Cotswolds is not liable for any damage or injury caused as a result of passengers not wearing a seatbelt.

It is not permitted to eat or carry hot food, or to drink alcohol on the vehicle at any time.

Smoking is not permitted on the vehicle at any time. Please see our FAQs for more information.

Passengers over the age of 16 are responsible for their own conduct and passengers under the age of 16 are the responsibility of the parent or guardian accompanying them. You indemnify us against any liability for damage caused by you or any members of your party.

In the event of spillages or damage to the vehicle caused by you or other persons included in your party, a cleaning or repair fee of £50 or the total cost of the repair bill (whichever is the greater) will be invoiced to the party organiser.

Aggressive, abusive or nuisance behaviour, or any behaviour deemed to be unreasonable by your driver/guide, will not be tolerated. Go Cotswolds reserves the right to terminate the tour, refuse entry to the vehicle or refuse continued participation of the tour to you (or any member of your party), for any reason, including but not limited to any behaviour deemed to have a negative impact on the enjoyment or safety of other passengers, or to the driver/guide. If this situation arises Go Cotswolds shall have no liability and will not be held responsible, or provide any compensation, for expenses incurred as a result.

Our Brewery and Pub Tours are strictly for persons over the age of 18. You must be able to present government-issued photographic identification (e.g. a passport or photocard driving licence) to prove your age on the request of your Go Cotswolds driver/guide. Failure to do so may result in a refusal to travel. If you cannot present suitable ID, Go Cotswolds reserves the right to refuse travel, and is not liable to provide any compensation or refund. Please see our FAQs for more information about UK alcohol laws and ID policies.

CHILDREN

As parents ourselves, we do not consider that our tours are suitable for young children. Children aged 3–16 are welcome on our Cotswolds Day Tours, but as parents/guardians, please consider whether your child will enjoy the day and/or affect the enjoyment of other passengers.

Children aged between 3 and 16 years must have a child ticket (or be included on a family ticket), sit in their own seat, and be accompanied on the tour by a fare-paying adult.

It is our company’s policy that children under the age of 3 may ONLY travel with us if you supply (and fit) your own age-appropriate car seat. This must be able to be fitted with a three-point seatbelt. In such cases, you must also purchase a child ticket for children under the age of 3 years.

You must inform Go Cotswolds if you intend to bring a child aged 0–3 and confirm that you will supply and fit an age-appropriate car seat. Go Cotswolds does not provide car seats or booster seats for children and is under no legal obligation to do so. Passengers arriving with a child under the age of 3 years without a car seat and/or without a ticket will not be permitted to join the tour and are ineligible for any refund.

Please see our FAQs for more information about seatbelt law and recommendations.

Children under the age of 18 are not permitted on the Brewery and Pub Tour at any time.

CUSTOMER CANCELLATIONS/NO-SHOWS AND TRANSFER REQUESTS

To cancel your booking and receive a refund (the full ticket price, less a £3 per person administration fee), you must contact Go Cotswolds by email, telephone call or SMS text message at least 48 hours before your agreed pick-up time. For example, if your pick-up time is 9.00am on a Friday, Go Cotswolds must have received your request to cancel by 9.00am the Wednesday before in order to facilitate a refund.

No refunds, full or partial, will be issued for cancellations made within 48 hours of your scheduled departure time.

Subject to availability, tour tickets may be transferred to an equivalent Go Cotswolds tour free of charge provided notification is received by 4.30pm the day prior to your tour. For example, if you’re due to depart on a tour on Friday morning, Go Cotswolds must have received your request to move to a different tour date (by email, telephone call or SMS text message) by 4.30pm the Thursday evening in order to facilitate the change.

No transfers will be permitted after 4.30pm the day prior to  your tour and if you no longer wish to join that tour your tickets will be forfeited and no refunds, full or partial, will be issued.

There is no limit to the number of times you may transfer a booking, provided the tickets are used within 1 year of the originally booked tour date. For example, if your ticket was originally booked for June 1st 2020, you may transfer onto any future, equivalent tour up to and including the 31st of May 2021.

Tickets transferred from their original tour date are no longer eligible for a refund.

Go Cotswolds will acknowledge your request to transfer your booking, or to cancel and confirm your eligibility to receive a refund by email or via telephone call within 48 hours of receipt of the request.

You may gift or sell your tour tickets to someone else with prior approval by Go Cotswolds. However, any refunds due on gifted or resold tickets will only be credited back to the credit/debit card or PayPal account of the person who originally made the booking.

Go Cotswolds will not be held responsible, or provide any compensation, for other expenses incurred as a result of a customer transfer request, cancellation or no-show. We recommend that you take out appropriate travel insurance to cover you in this eventuality.

Please note that we cannot be held responsible for emails, texts or voicemails not received within the terms outlined above.

REFUNDS

Any refunds issued in line with the Customer Cancellations/No-Shows policy outlined above will be made within 28 days and will be credited back to the original credit or debit card, or PayPal account, from which payment was originally taken.

Refunds are subject to a £3 per person administration fee which will be deducted from your refund at the time of repayment.

CANCELLATION OR CURTAILMENT BY GO COTSWOLDS

In the unlikely event that a tour is cancelled by Go Cotswolds you will be entitled to a full refund for all monies already paid. Alternatively, subject to availability, you may transfer your tickets to any future, equivalent tour.

In the event of a cancellation, Go Cotswolds will contact you as soon as is practically possible using the telephone number or email address you provided at the time of booking. It is your responsibility to ensure the contact details you provide are suitable and correct.

In the event that a tour is cut short owing to circumstances beyond our control, Go Cotswolds will refund what is deemed to be a fair proportion of the cost of the tour. Go Cotswolds’ decision is final.

Go Cotswolds will not be held responsible, or provide any compensation, for other expenses incurred as a result of a cancellation made by us. We recommend that you (and the members of your party) take out appropriate travel insurance to cover you in this eventuality.

ACCIDENT, INJURY OR LOSS

Go Cotswolds will not be held liable for any accident, injury, delay, loss, damage, inconvenience – direct or consequential, however caused – sustained on the Go Cotswolds minibus or on a tour unless due to negligence by us, in which case, our liability is limited to compensation to a maximum amount of the price paid for your tour.

PRIVACY

On the 25th of May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect. This European Union (EU) regulation relates to the use of personal data. Our privacy policy details our use of your personal data and our compliance with the GDPR. By agreeing to our terms and conditions you also acknowledge, understand and agree to our own privacy policy. To read our privacy policy click here.

During a tour, your Go Cotswolds tour guide may take photographs of the group participating in the tour. Any pictures taken remain the property of Go Cotswolds and may be used, by Go Cotswolds, for marketing, promotional and/or social media purposes. If you do not want pictures featuring you (or members of your party) to be used for this purpose you must contact Go Cotswolds, by email, requesting to be excluded. If you would like any photos of you (or  members of your party) to be removed from Go Cotswolds’ marketing, promotional and/or social media material after a tour has taken place then please contact us, by email, requesting this.

If you wish to receive original copies of any photographs taken of you (or members of your party) for your own personal use then please contact us and we’ll be happy to provide you with this.

COVID-19 INFORMATION:

The following additional terms and conditions apply to all bookings made for tours from August 2020 until further notice.

  • If you, or a member of your household has, or has had in the 14 days leading up to your tour, symptoms of possible or confirmed COVID-19 infection (i.e., a new, continuous cough; high temperature/fever, or loss or change in sense of taste and/or smell), you MUST contact us before your tour date, and you MUST NOT participate in the tour.
  • At the start of your tour, we will record your temperature using a non-contact infra-red forehead thermometer. If you have a temperature of 37.8°C or higher, this is considered to be a fever and a sign of possible infection with COVID-19. You will therefore not be permitted to participate in the tour and will not be eligible for any refund or transfer.
  • At the start of your tour, we will ask if you are happy for us to share your name and telephone number, as provided by you at booking, with NHS Test and Trace, if we are asked to do so. It is your responsibility to let us know if you do not wish your details to be passed on for this purpose.
  • All passengers must sanitise their hands using the hand sanitising gel/spray provided before boarding the minibus at the start of the tour and each time the minibus is re-entered after a stop.
  • Unless medically exempt, all passengers over the age of 11 must wear a face covering that covers the nose and mouth at all times while on board the Go Cotswolds minibus. Please bring your own face covering where possible. Disposable face masks will be provided if you do not have your own.
  • All passengers must keep an appropriate social distance from other people not in your household, including other passengers, your driver-guide, and members of the public. When wearing a face covering, the acceptable social distance is 1 metre (3 feet). When not wearing a face covering, it is 2 metres (6 feet)
  • To enable social distancing on our minibus, we have reduced the maximum number of passengers from 16 to 10. Some seats will be clearly marked as out of use. All passengers will be allocated a seat and should stay in that seat for the duration of the tour.
  • To keep our minibus as clean as possible, passengers must not eat or drink on board the minibus. The minibus will be deep-cleaned before every tour, and the driver-guide will clean all common touch points (such as seats, seat belts, armrests, grab rails and door frames) regularly during the tour.
