BeerTastingStarWebHuge congratulations to our friends at the fabulous Purity Brewing Company this week – two of their fantastic beers have been honoured with the title of ‘Best in the World’ at the recent World Beer Awards!

Pure UBU has been named World’s Best Amber Pale Ale, and – my favourite – Lawless Lager, is the World’s Best German-Style Lager.

We’ve been Purity fans for a long time, but we started working with the brewery earlier this year to bring you our special monthly ‘Purity Brewery & Cotswolds Pub Tour‘ – it’s a bit of a mouthful of a name, but you’ll get more than a mouthful in return!

Priced at just £55 per person and operating on the first Saturday of every month, this special tour includes a pick-up from Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa or Warwick town centres, or from Warwick Parkway station – ideal for day visitors coming by train from Birmingham or London.

We’ll then take you to Purity HQ, situated in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside, for an excellent guided tour of this brilliant craft brewery and, weather permitting, their special eco-friendly wetlands system. At the end, you’ll have the chance to sample some of their delicious (world’s best!) ales and stock up in the on-site shop if you want to take some home with you.

The Golden Cross in Ardens GraftonAfter the brewery tour and tasting, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch and another pint of Purity beer at the wonderful Golden Cross Country Inn and Dining House – a cosy, traditional pub with wooden beams, a roaring log fire and listed in the 2015 Good Beer and Good Food Guides. This will be followed by a visit to two more of our favourite pubs in the Cotswolds before we bring you back to your starting point at the end of the day.

Sound good? Our next Purity Brewery & Cotswolds Pub Tour is tomorrow, 3rd October – but I’m afraid you’re out of luck as this one has been sold out for weeks! However, we do still have spaces left on our tours on 7th November and 5th December – after Purity’s recent Awards success, I have a feeling the remaining seats will be snapped up, so make sure you book before it’s too late!
