Our TourSure Guarantee

Our TourSure Guarantee: we will never cancel a tour because of low numbers

Have you ever booked a group tour or activity and had it cancelled at short notice because not enough people signed up?

Frustrating, isn’t it?

Especially if you’ve booked that experience as part of a bigger itinerary, or you’ve purchased travel tickets to get there.

Here at Go Cotswolds, we promise NEVER to cancel a tour due to low numbers – even if you’re the only one!

We call it our TourSure Guarantee

Our TourSure Guarantee means that, very occasionally, we might run an individual tour at a financial loss.

But we prefer to look at the bigger picture: last minute cancellations can cause bad feeling, and no-one likes that!

Plus, we know we’ll fill our tours several times over in busier periods, so it all evens out in the end.

We know you’ll appreciate this promise, and it’s one less thing for you to worry about!

We have an exceptionally low cancellation rate

Most of the time, we have the opposite problem: our tours are often fully booked with waiting lists, so low numbers is rarely an issue!

But, low numbers can occur; for example during quiet periods in the winter, or if there is a rail strike.

Of course, we want to avoid running tours at a loss, so:

  • If a tour has received no bookings 3 days out from the travel date, then we will close out that tour and accept no new bookings.
  • If you are the only person who has booked a particular tour, then we might ask if you can switch to another tour, or another date. But if you can’t make another date, then no problem! We will honour your booking 😊

Did you know?

In 10 years of touring the Cotswolds, we have only ever cancelled SIX tours? (Except for the COVID blip, of course, when we were legally obliged to close.)

Once was because of a vehicle breakdown (back when we only had one vehicle – now we have 4).

Once was because of dangerously high winds.

We have had to cancel two times in 10 years because of heavy snow.

Once we had to cancel a tour due to guide illness, but we successfully transferred all passengers onto alternative dates.

And once in 2017 when the wife of one of our tour guides gave birth a few days earlier than expected!
