Join us for a fantastic tour to Bath from Stratford-upon-Avon

Whether you’re local to Stratford-upon-Avon, or you’re a visitor to Shakespeare’s home town, we’d love you to join us on our new Bath & Stonehenge tour.

Stonehenge & Bath from Stratford-upon-Avon

Your day will begin at Shakespeare’s Birthplace Coach Terminal on Windsor Street, Stratford-upon-Avon.

Here, at 8.20AM, you’ll arrive to meet your driver-guide and check in for the tour. The Coach Terminal is within easy walking distance of most hotels and accommodation providers in Stratford-upon-Avon. If you’re coming from out of town, then it’s also very close to Stratford-upon-Avon railway station and town centre bus stops, and there’s a big multi-storey car park right next door.

Departing Stratford-upon-Avon at 8.30AM, we’ll then travel to Moreton-in-Marsh station to collect our final passengers there at 9.00AM.

Then, sit back, relax, and enjoy the stunning journey through the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as we make our way to the city of Bath.

The journey from Moreton-in-Marsh to Bath takes around 2 hours, but the time will whizz by! The views from the panoramic windows of our comfy Mercedes minibuses are glorious. Plus, one of our fun, friendly guides will tell you all about the amazing history, geography and culture of the Cotswolds as we go. All our guides are local to the area, so they have plenty of fun, personal stories to tell, and can answer all your questions!

Travel to Bath from Stratford-upon-Avon in comfort and style

At this point, it’s worth noting that we don’t have ordinary, run-of-the-mill minibuses!

Our executive class Mercedes Sprinter minibuses can comfortably seat up to 16 people, with comfy, spacious, reclining coach-style seats. All our vehicles are fully air conditioned, have USB charging points, an on-board speaker system, and – safety first – seatbelts for everyone. There’s plenty of room for small bags and coats on the overhead shelf, and if you’re bringing bigger bags, then we have a large luggage compartment in the back too.

Did we mention the panoramic windows? No matter where you sit, you’ll get a great view!

Arrival in Bath

Our first stop in Bath is at the iconic Royal Crescent. We’ll spend around 15 minutes here, which is just enough time to admire this beautiful curved terrace of Grade 1 listed buildings. Widely regarded as the greatest example of Georgian architecture in England, Royal Crescent has plenty of secrets to reveal, and is very photogenic!

Next, we’ll hop back in the minibus and drive a short distance to the centre of Bath. We’ll drop you off near to the famous Bath Abbey and Roman Baths, and you’ll have around 2.5 hours of free time to explore this lovely, compact city at your leisure.

During this time, you’ll have the option of a 45-minute city walking tour with your Go Cotswolds guide. We’ll also give you one of our unique Go Cotswolds maps of the city, pointing out our recommended sights, places to shop, eat and drink. Lunch isn’t included in the tour price, so you’re welcome to bring a picnic, but the many independent tea-rooms, cafes and pubs can be hard to resist!

To Stonehenge!

At the appointed meeting time, we’ll depart Bath and head out to the magical, mysterious and completely fascinating prehistoric monument of Stonehenge! The journey takes around 1 hour, through lovely countryside.

Admission to Stonehenge is not included in the price of the tour – and there’s a very good reason for that (actually two reasons, but one involves a very complicated tour operator tax scheme that you don’t need to be bored by!).

Pricing for admission to Stonehenge can vary widely, depending on the day of the week, the time of year, your age, student status, family size, the size of the tour group and more. As a small group tour operator, we can ensure you get the best possible price by booking your tickets in advance. Therefore, please bring cash or card so we can take payment from you on the day. Expect to pay £12-18 for children, or £20-28 for adults. By the way, we don’t get any commission or add any mark-up to the ticket price.

If you’re a member of English Heritage or The National Trust, bring your valid membership card for FREE entry to Stonehenge!

Our visit to Stonehenge will last around 1 hour 30 minutes. First, take the shuttle bus to the stone circle, where your Go Cotswolds guide will give you an introduction. There’s also an excellent audioguide to Stonehenge, which you might like to download to your phone before your visit. It’s available in several languages. Don’t forget your headphones!

As well as viewing the stone circle from the perimeter path, your admission to Stonehenge includes the fantastic visitor centre. Here, the mystery and history of Stonehenge comes to life through audiovisual presentations, archaeological finds, and a reconstruction of a neolithic village. Don’t miss it!

Homeward bound

From Stonehenge, it’s a 2 hour drive to Moreton-in-Marsh, again winding through the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride! We get back to Moreton-in-Marsh by approximately 18.15, and to Stratford-upon-Avon by 18.45. It’s a long day, but so worth it!
