A tour company that allows overseas and domestic holidaymakers to experience the beauty of the Cotswolds is on the lookout for larger premises after achieving record customer numbers this year.
Go Cotswolds has seen its passenger numbers hit over 7500 so far in 2025 – a 10 per cent rise from its then-record of 6800 in 2024. Turnover has increased by 30 per cent as a result, and it has hired new staff and acquired an extra minibus to cope with demand.
The family-run company provides a mix of guided tours of the Cotswolds, with pick-up points in Stratford-upon-Avon, Moreton-in-Marsh and – coming soon – Oxford.
And the popularity of its ‘Cotswolds in a Day’ tour, which sees customers taken on a whistlestop tour of some of the best parts of the region, recently saw it receive a coveted ‘Best of the Best’ award from travel review giants TripAdvisor.
The accolade recognises companies and attractions featuring in the top one percent of all its listings.
The tour is also ranked number 17 on TripAdvisor’s list of ‘Cultural and Historic Things to Do’ in the whole of the UK, with most other recommendations being activities in large cities such as London and Edinburgh.
Lisa Benjamin, from Go Cotswolds, said: “As a small family business from a rural town, we’re so happy to be exceeding even our own expectations and providing incredible experiences for more guests than ever before.
“Our Cotswolds in a Day tour is particularly appealing to overseas visitors who are touring around the UK, and it’s great to see it resonate with so many of them. All of our guides have been praised for their friendliness and warmth, which is exactly what we want to provide to our tour guests.
“We’ve also enhanced our partnerships with travel companies and agents both here and abroad, which has enabled us to take on 40 per cent more bookings through the trade than in 2024.
“This success has meant we’ve been able to expand the company by recruiting three new tour guides, promoting a part-time member of staff to full-time and hiring two cleaning staff.
“We’re outgrowing our current premises, currently split between two sites in Temple Grafton and Bidford-on-Avon, so we’re ready to take on a bigger space that will allow us to conduct operations more efficiently.
“The Cotswolds is a truly special place to visit, and we’re delighted that we’re helping more people than ever experience its unique charm and sustainably growing our business as a result.”
Go Cotswolds is a member of Shakespeare’s England, the destination management organisation for Warwickshire.
Darren Tosh, Operations and Marketing Director at Shakespeare’s England, added: “Go Cotswolds is a fantastic success story, and their continued growth shows the huge appeal of the region to both international and domestic visitors.
“The fact that they’ve expanded their operations, created new local jobs, and earned national recognition through TripAdvisor’s ‘Best of the Best’ award is a real testament to the quality of their offer and the dedication of their team.
“By providing visitors with an exceptional, sustainable way to explore the Cotswolds and beyond, Go Cotswolds not only enhance the visitor experience but also strengthen our wider tourism economy. We’re incredibly proud to have them as members of Shakespeare’s England and to see their success helping to raise the profile of Stratford-upon-Avon and other nearby towns.”
