FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Go Cotswolds Launches Two New Day Tours from Oxford, Expanding Visitor Access to the Cotswolds and Stratford-upon-Avon
Stratford-upon-Avon, UK — 25th November 2025
Go Cotswolds, the award-winning, family-run small-group tour operator based in Stratford-upon-Avon, is pleased to announce the launch of two brand-new guided day tours departing directly from Oxford. From January 2026, visitors staying in or travelling through Oxford will have even more options to explore the Cotswolds and Shakespeare Country with ease.
These new tours respond to growing demand from Oxford-based travellers looking for simple, enjoyable, and well-organised ways to discover the region’s most beautiful towns, villages, and historic locations.
New Tours Departing from Oxford
Cotswolds Day Tour from Oxford
This full-day small-group tour offers a relaxed introduction to the Cotswolds, with visits to some of the region’s most picturesque spots including Bourton-on-the-Water, Bibury, Burford, and Bampton (known for its appearance in Downton Abbey). Guests enjoy free time in each stop to wander, shop, and take in the scenery.
Cotswolds & Stratford-upon-Avon Tour from Oxford
Combining two much-loved destinations, this tour includes visits to Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, and Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare. Guests can explore Stratford’s riverside, shops, and historic attractions at their own pace.
With the Cotswolds & Stratford-upon-Avon Tour from Oxford, guests have the option to end their tour in Stratford-upon-Avon instead of returning to Oxford. This makes the tour a convenient, engaging way to travel between the two destinations.
Both tours depart from a convenient city centre bus stop (on St Giles, outside the Ashmolean Museum) in Oxford, at 09:30 and return by around 16:30. Each tour operates in a comfortable 16-seat minibus and is led by friendly, knowledgeable guides who all live locally in Stratford-upon-Avon or the Cotswolds, ensuring an authentic and personal perspective on the places visited.
All Go Cotswolds Tours Are Accessible from Oxford
In addition to the new Oxford-departure tours, Go Cotswolds reminds visitors that its wider range of award-winning tours is also easy to reach from Oxford.
Most of Go Cotswolds’ other tours have a pick up point in central Stratford-upon-Avon and/or at Moreton-in-Marsh railway station – just 33 minutes by train from Oxford. Travellers can therefore also enjoy:
- Cotswolds in a Day
- Secret Cotswolds
- Bath & Southern Cotswolds
- Clarkson’s Farm locations tour (Moreton-in-Marsh pick up/drop off only)
- Cotswolds Walks & Villages walking tour
This makes Go Cotswolds a convenient and flexible choice for visitors staying in Oxford who wish to explore more of the region.
