50th_logo_reducedWe’ve teamed up with the  Cotswolds Conservation Board to offer a special Arts and Crafts Guided Tour of the Cotswolds to help the region celebrate its 50th anniversary of becoming a designated Area of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB).

The Cotswolds, the largest of the family of 38 AONBs in England and Wales, is 50 this year, having been designated an AONB in 1966. In 2016 the Conservation Board is putting on a number of special events to mark the occasion, including a series of “Golden Guided Tours” with us!

The first of these unique tours takes place on Tuesday 5th April and will highlight the special relationship between the Cotswolds and the Arts and Crafts movement.

The tour will take place in the Go Cotswolds minibus and will be led by Cotswolds Voluntary Wardens who have an intimate knowledge of the area, the Arts & Crafts movement and its significance in the Cotswolds.

We only have 15 seats available for the tour so if you’d like to come then please book your seats as soon as possible!

The full day tour costs £40pp and includes:

  • Transport all day with pick ups and drop off points in Stratford-upon-Avon and Broadway.
  • Talk and tour of Stanton Guildhouse (inclued tea/coffee).
  • Guided short walks of both Stanton and Broadway.
  • Cotswolds Voluntary Warden led talk about Chipping Campden and CR Ashbee’s contribution to the Arts and Crafts movement.
  • Free time to explore Broadway and Chipping Campden (maps provided).

Half of the ticket price will go directly to the Cotswolds AONB Visitor Giving Scheme.

We’re very excited to be teaming up with the Cotswolds AONB and the Wardens to help celebrate the 50th anniversary. Arts and Crafts is an important part of the history and culture of the Cotswolds and this tour will offer a unique insight.

We’re also delighted to be able donate a significant proportion of the tour ticket price to the Cotswolds Visitor Giving Scheme which has a vitally important role in helping to preserve the Cotswolds for future generations.
