The Norwegian flag

On Sunday’s tour we took a lovely family from Norway out to the Cotswolds. The 31st different nationality that has visited the Cotswolds with us.

You may be able to tell by the frequency with which I mention the nationalities that this is something that pleases me greatly… It is, as meeting people from all over the world is one of the best parts of what I do!

Despite the ferocious weather – wet and very windy – they had a great time and were grateful of the opportunity to visit a  place on their ‘to-do’ list of England.

The family have visited England a number of times and visit London a few times a year but this was their first time in Stratford-upon-Avon.

When they arrived they were surprised to find out how close the Cotswolds are to Stratford-upon-Avon. The Cotswolds was something on their future to-do list but they didn’t expect to be able to do it on this trip whilst visiting Stratford.

Well, you certainly can visit the Cotswolds from Stratford-upon-Avon!

Stratford is actually less than 20 minutes from the start of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding National Beauty making it a great base for exploring the area.

With Go Cotswolds you can experience The Cotswolds in a day with a local as we pick you up from Stratford-upon-Avon and take you to a variety of different towns, villages and beauty spots giving you a real flavour of just how beautiful the area is. This we do before returning you in plenty of time for tea (or the theatre)!

We hope that our Norwegian visitors return again so that we can show them the area in more forgiving conditions. However, they are used to temperamental weather conditions themselves as they told me that they had received 50cm of snow the day before the flew to England!
