Do you provide a Cotswolds tour from Cheltenham?

Looking for a Cotswolds tour from Cheltenham? You might be disappointed to find your options are limited to expensive private tours.

We get asked all the time, “can you pick us up from Cheltenham for your small group tours?” Sadly, the answer is no for now. But, we’re working on it – and there are still ways you can join our tours from Cheltenham, so read on!

So why don’t you provide a pick-up from Cheltenham?

Well, we’re based north of the Cotswolds, in Stratford-upon-Avon. Therefore, most of our tour guests are visitors to Stratford. They have come for the Shakespeare but realised they can explore the Cotswolds from there too! We also offer a pick-up from Moreton-in-Marsh train station in the Cotswolds. This gives access to our tours by train from London, Reading, Oxford and Worcester.

But, stuck over there on the far western edge of the Cotswolds, Cheltenham is just a bit too far for us to offer a regular pick-up point.

But, like I said, we have solutions for you! Read on to discover how you CAN take a Cotswolds tour from Cheltenham!

Option 1: Take the bus to join a small-group Cotswolds tour from Cheltenham

Enjoying a National Lottery Days Out in the Cotswolds tour

Our award-winning small-group tours of the Cotswolds start from just £50 per person. As I mentioned, we offer a pick-up from Stratford-upon-Avon, and from Moreton-in-Marsh train station.

If you’d like to join one of these shared, mixed group tours from Cheltenham, then you can! Mondays thru Fridays, simply hop on the 801 bus from Cheltenham’s Royal Well Bus Station, or from outside Cheltenham Hospital. Ride it all the way to Moreton-in-Marsh train station!

The bus service is run by Pulham’s Coaches, and the current timetable for this bus is here: 801. At the time of writing (October 2023), the bus departs from Royal Well Bus Station at 0730 and arrives at Moreton-in-Marsh station at 0857. That’s plenty of time for our tour departure time of 0930-0945. It only costs £2 one-way (rising to £2.50 from November 12st, 2023)!

If you want to join one of our small-group tours from Cheltenham on a Saturday, check out the trains. You can get from Cheltenham Spa to Moreton-in-Marsh, with a change at Worcestershire Parkway. Unfortunately, it’s not currently possible to reach Moreton-in-Marsh in time for our Sunday tours.

But how do I get back to Cheltenham by bus?

There are no buses from Moreton-in-Marsh back to Cheltenham after 16.35, and that’s too early for the end of our tour.

However, on our Cotswolds in a Day tour, we can leave you in Bourton-on-the-Water. This is the last stop of the tour, and you can take the 801 bus back to Cheltenham from there. The bus leaves Bourton-on-the-Water at 1707. Bonus, you get to spend longer in Bourton-on-the-Water too!

Option 2: Take a ‘ready-made’ private Cotswolds tour from Cheltenham

We’ve recently launched ‘ready-made’ private tours that are instantly bookable on our website! Based on our ‘Cotswolds in a Day’ small group tours, our private Cotswolds day tours can be booked just for you and your group.

Offering a little more flexibility than our mixed group tours, you won’t have to share your tour with anyone you don’t know.

And the best news is, we can come and pick you up and drop you off from anywhere in Cheltenham!

This private Cotswolds tour from Cheltenham costs a flat fee of £950. But, since we have 17-seater minibuses, that price is for up to 16 people (we need to save one seat for the driver-guide, of course!). Why not get a group of family or friends together and make some new memories?

Option 3: Take a ‘tailor made’ private Cotswolds tour from Cheltenham

This family enjoyed a family day out in the Cotswolds

We do, of course, also offer tailor-made private Cotswolds tours, and for these we can also pick you up directly from Cheltenham.

If you don’t fancy our ready-made private tour itinerary, we can work with you to create a completely bespoke tour. See the places you want to see, do the things you want to do, and take your own time.

Our private tours are best for larger groups of up to 16 people. So check us out if a private Cotswolds tour in a smaller car wouldn’t work.

If you have an even bigger group of more than 16 people, no problem! We have a great relationship with another family-run, Cotswolds-based coach company, so we can hire bigger vehicles and provide you with one of our expert local guides.
